The Re-Emergence of the Wedge: The Flatform

How many of you bought them already? I’ve seen my fair share of adorably cute and horribly awful pairs of flatform wedges. Half of me screams, “O-M-G they’re soooo cute.” The other half of me ponders, “Where’s the arch? I’m trying to look sexy at all times”, which leaves me ultra- reluctant to jump on this new bandwagon. Is it the wedge? Some of us don’t really like wedge sandals at all. I’m kind of on your side of the fence. If you would prefer to completely avoid the new invention of the platform wedge, hear me out. A couple of weeks ago, my hairstylist expressed that she had longed for the day that pointy-toe sandals are once again sold at department stores in abundance. Unfortunately, those gems are hard to come by these days. Times have changed and so have we. Let’s move forward in the game of fashion and the flatform wedge is where it’s at. On the upside, the flatform can do wonders for those of us barely standing above 5’3”. We should be flocking to stores no? I must take a stand and admit that the idea of wearing a flatform wedge that will lend me a few inches, while skipping the torture of sore feet walking on the blazing concrete during a New York summer sounds like a must-have. Thus, I’ll embrace this new era of the platform and give in to the flatform. Ladies, let’s overlook how we think they look on the outside, instead focus more on how they’ll make our feet feel on the inside. I’m excited to see what fabulous possibilities bloom from a blissful, pain-free, gorgeous summer with the flatform wedge.
